Myanmar Radio (formerly known as the Burma Broadcasting Service) is the state-run national radio service
of Myanmar, operating under Myanmar Radio and Television (MRTV). First aired in 1936 during the
British colonial era, it provides 100% geographic radio coverage across the nation. While its historical
center is on Pyay Road in Yangon, its primary broadcasting hub has been based in Naypyidaw since 2007.
Operates primarily on three main shortwave (SW) frequencies: 5915 kHz, 5985 kHz, and 9730 kHz.
