The International Radio for Disaster Relief (IRDR) trial transmission took place on June 5–6, 2014,
in Jakarta, Indonesia, during the Media Summit on Climate Change, ICTs, and Disaster Risk Reduction.
It tested specialized shortwave radio frameworks to broadcast emergency information and
pre-recorded humanitarian programming produced by BBC Media Action.
During the 2014 International Radio for Disaster Relief (IRDR) trial in Jakarta, two primary shortwave
frequencies were selected and utilized by 12 international broadcasting organizations to test emergency
transmissions: 15650 Khz and 21840 Khz
